Saturday, September 6, 7:30 pm ~ University Center for the Arts Alexander Borodin: Polovtsian March Ilyich Rivas, Guest Conductor Serge Prokofiev: Piano Concerto No. 2 Franz Liszt: Piano Concerto No. 1 Johann Strauss Jr.: One Thousand and One Nights Featuring Sheng Cai, Piano Finalist and Yoonjung Han, Piano Finalist Move over American Idol - Young Artists from across the nation flooded the Symphony with demo CDs in March, ten semi-finalists compete in May, and two finalists return in September to perform an entire concerto with the Symphony. The $6,000 Adeline and Harry Rosenberg prize is at stake, so ticket holders are in for an intense competition. Second place is $4,000. Students may join the maestro for a post concert Q & A.
