World-renowned Guest Artists to Perform with Fort Collin Symphony

The Fort Collins Symphony is pleased to welcome a pair of world-renowned guest artists to its second Masterworks performance, Paris to Prague, on Saturday, November 3, 2018 at 7:30 p.m. at the Lincoln Center. Together, violinist Michelle Kim and cellist Clive Greensmith will perform Johannes Brahms’ Concerto for Violin and Cello.

Michelle Kim has held the position of Assistant Concertmaster with the New York Philharmonic since 2001. She has performed as a soloist with orchestras such as the New York Philharmonic, Los Angeles Philharmonic, New Jersey Symphony, and Pacific Symphony. In 2016, she performed Prokofiev’s Violin Concert No. 2 with the Fort Collins Symphony. A graduate of the University of Southern California’s Thornton School of Music, Ms. Kim founded Doublestop Foundation (http://doublestopfoundation.org/) in 2010, a public charity that provides stringed instruments for musicians who cannot afford to make such an investment on their own.

Cellist Clive Greensmith has a distinguished career as soloist, chamber musician and teacher. From 1999 until 2013, he was a member of the world-renowned Tokyo String Quartet giving over one hundred performances each year in the most prestigious international and national venues. He is a graduate of the Royal Northern College of Music in England. Deeply committed to the mentoring and development of young musicians, Mr. Greensmith currently is Co-Director of Chamber Music, and Professor of Cello at the Colburn School in Los Angeles.
