Rachel Sliker grew up in Colorado and began taking Suzuki violin lessons when she was 5 years old. She spent her high school years touring extensively with the Colorado Springs Youth Symphony. With this illustrious orchestra she performed in the Sydney Opera House, the Mozarteum, Carnegie Hall and a variety of other renowned venues. In 2004 she attended the University of Colorado Boulder (CU) on a full tuition scholarship where she received her Bachelor’s Degree in Violin Performance. At CU, Rachel studied with Oswald Lehnert and Judith Ingolfsson.
Since then she has taught private lessons out of a studio in Boulder, CO and played with several orchestras along the front range including the Fort Collins Symphony, Cheyenne Symphony, San Juan Symphony, Wyoming Symphony and the Steamboat Springs Orchestra. Currently, Rachel plays in the Orelia String Quartet, as well as the Denver based folk-rock band, Princess Music. She enjoys playing the violin immensely however music doesn’t take all of her time. She also likes to cook, bake, garden, ride her bike, read books, sew, draw pictures, and be amongst family and friends.
