Violinist, Mary Gindulis, currently performs with the Fort Collins Symphony, Greeley Philharmonic Orchestra and Pro Musica Colorado Chamber Orchestra. She received her B.M. in violin performance from Southern Illinois University at Edwardsville and the M.M. and Doctor of Arts in performance and pedagogy from the University of Northern Colorado. Prior to returning to northern Colorado, Dr. Gindulis spent 21 years in Tahlequah, Oklahoma where she was a tenured, Associate Professor of Music at Northeastern State University. She taught violin, viola, music theory, form and analysis, and string education methods. She subsequently taught at the Omaha Conservatory of Music, where she had a studio of 30 students of all ages. Dr. Gindulis has been a violinist with the Tulsa Philharmonic, Tulsa Opera, Tulsa Ballet, Cheyenne, Omaha, North Arkansas, Fort Smith, and Colorado Springs symphonies. She has also performed and toured with the Houston Grand Opera and Texas Opera Theater. Mary also spent three summers at the Breckenridge Music Festival where she was first violinist in the Blue River string quartet.
Dr. Gindulis has been an active public school orchestral clinician and adjudicator in Texas, Oklahoma, Arkansas and Nebraska. She has also always maintained a private studio and currently teaches students age three to adult in her home in Brighton, CO.
In her free time, Mary and her husband Herb enjoy hiking, biking, gardening and cooking. Last summer she learned how to fish and this summer plans to learn kayaking!
Mary is the proud mother of three beautiful daughters and four step-daughters and has six grandchildren with two new grand-daughters due to arrive in April and July.
