Principal hornist Dan Nebel is a native of Los Alamos, NM and currently lives in Boulder, CO. He earned his undergraduate degree from the Eastman School of Music, a masters from Wichita State University, and began doctoral work at the University of Northern Colorado. In addition to performing with the Fort Collins Symphony, he is currently the principal horn of the Monterey Symphony and has held positions with the Wichita Symphony Orchestra, Wichita Grand Opera, and North State Symphony.
Nebel was an enlisted bandsman with the United States Air Force Band of the Golden West at Travis AFB, CA for five years and a busy freelance musician in Northern California. He is also a church organist and choir director as well as a yoga instructor and personal trainer. He enjoys hiking, backpacking, and trail running with his wife Erin in beautiful places throughout the Western United States!
