Michael Tetreault, Principal Timpani
Michael Tetreault holds a Bachelor of Music from the Eastman School of Music in Rochester, NY where he studied with John Beck and a Master of Music Degree from the Royal Academy of Music in London, UK where he studied with Simon Carrington, Andrew Barclay and Kurt-Hans Goedicke. Michael has performed domestically and abroad with the American Wind Symphony, Rochester Oratorio Society, Colorado Symphony, Orchestre de Paris, London Soloists Chamber Orchestra, Royal Scottish National Orchestra, RTE Concert Orchestra (Dublin), Ulster Orchestra (Belfast), and the Halle Orchestra (Manchester). He was also chosen as the Principal Percussionist for a tour of the United Kingdom with Elton John.
As a chamber musician Michael has collaborated with Alarm Will Sound, Ann Murray, Bob Becker, world-renown tabla player Pandit Sharda Sahai and was a founding member of the London Steve Reich Ensemble. He has performed at music festivals in Santa Barbara, Maryland, Breckenridge, England, Ireland, Holland, Germany, and France and has recorded extensively for Albany Records, Warner Bros. Records, Sony Classical, RTE Radio/TV and the British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC).
He currently lives in Denver with his wife Rachel.
