Megan Garrison, Assistant Principal Horn

Megan Garrison grew up in the San Francisco Bay Area. She received a B.M in Horn performance from the University of Denver’s Lamont School of Music. She then received a M.M in Horn performance from the University of Colorado at Boulder. During her graduate studies, she served as the Graduate Teaching Assistant to the CU horn studio, and played with the Arundo Winds who won the silver medal in the 2006 Fischoff National Chamber Music Competition. The quintet has since reformed under the name of Antero Winds which performs both locally and nationally. In 2006 to 2007 Megan served as Third Horn with the Orquesta Sinfonica Sinaloa de las Artes in Culiacán, México.

Locally, Megan has played with the Boulder Philharmonic, Cheyenne Symphony, Colorado Brass Company, Colorado Symphony Orchestra, Denver Brass, Fort Collins Symphony, Junior Symphony Guild, Opera Colorado, and Opera Fort Collins. Megan is now seeking a music teaching credential at CU Boulder. She teaches privately and works with local youth orchestras. Megan is a passionate and avid hiker.
