Megan Garrison, Assistant Principal Horn
Megan Garrison grew up in the San Francisco Bay Area. She received a B.M in Horn performance from the University of Denver’s Lamont School of Music. Loving Colorado, she stayed in the state to receive an M.M in Horn performance from the University of Colorado at Boulder. During her graduate studies, she served as the Graduate Teaching Assistant to the CU horn studio, and played with the Arundo Winds who won the silver medal in the 2006 Fischoff National Chamber Music Competition. After graduating the same year, she served as Third Horn with the Orquesta Sinfonica Sinaloa de las Artes, a professional orchestra in Culiacán, Mexico.
Locally, Megan has played with the Colorado Symphony Orchestra, Opera Colorado, Boulder Philharmonic, Fort Collins Symphony, Opera Fort Collins, Cheyenne Symphony, “Unstaged”, The Junior Symphony Guild, the Denver Brass, The Colorado Brass Company and the Rocky Mountain Horn Club. Once again called back to Colorado, she is now seeking a music teaching credential at CU Boulder. She teaches privately and conducts and coaches a local youth orchestra and wind ensemble. Megan is a passionate and avid hiker.
