Maurizio Moretti is considered amongst the most popular Italian pianists today. Born in Cagliari, Mr. Moretti studied under Ida Allegretto and then for five years with Aldo Ciccolini, who wrote about him: "an extraordinary rhythmical vitality, a special inborn musical treatment of sound and a great technical capacity which characterized his pianism. He is surely on of the most talented and original exponents of Italian pianism...(sic)"
Maurizio Moretti has played concerts in most European countries, regularly touring France, Spain, Germany, Belgium, and Austria as well as throughout Eastern Europe. He is great demand both as a recitalist and as featured soloist with many prestigious orchestras. He has taken part in such major International musical festivals as Menton Festival, Montecarlo, Msikhalle Hamburg, Le Nuit du Suquet a Cannes, Festival Pablo Casals, just to name a few.
Mr. Moretti has just completed successful tours as soloist with the Moscow Soloists conducted by Yuri Bashmet, and with the Prague Philharmonic, playing Brahms' Piano Concerto No. 1.
