Dian Tchobanov, Conductor

Tchobanov has been conducting with great success concerts and opera productions in numerous of European cities, such as Vienna, Budapest, Prague, Sofia, Zagreb, Porto etc.

Since 2007 Dian Tchobanov has been chef-conductor of the Stara Zagora State Opera. Since 2004 has been first conductor of the Sofia Philharmonic Orchestra. In 2003 he has become permanent conductor of Schönbrunn Vienna Chamber Orchestra.

The young musician has also many engagements as permanent guest conductor, e.g. Dohnany Orchestra Budapest (since 1999), Budapest Concert Orchestra (since 2004), Croatian Chamber Orchestra (Zagreb, since 2004).

Furthermore he has also conducted the Vienna Radio Symphony Orchestra, the Budapest Festival Orchestra, the Bulgarian National Radio Symphony Orchestra, the Zagreb Philharmonic Orchestra, Meininger State theatre, Macedonia philharmonic, Sinfonieta Sofia and the Philharmonic Orchestras of Plovdiv, Vidin and Pazardjik.

He has been musical director of "Oper Oder-Spree" Festival (2001) and has been Assistant of the Festival "Wiener und Osterklangbogen" (2002). Beyond his activities as conductor he has also played as a pianist with the Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra under the conductorship of Seiji Ozawa.

He has been engaged for recordings by the International Society for New Music (IGNM), Music Management “IMaGE” (Vienna), Fabio d´Andrea (London) and the Bulgarian and Austrian National Radio, Balkan Multimedia Center CD Elilta. He was engaged by: Konzertdirekzion Landgraf, Re Nova Classics, IMaGE Vienna, Musicagentur Buchmann & Kaspar, Krisper Bros., EuroClassic MusicManagement. Since 2006 he is a Faculty at the International Conductors Workshop Varna.
