We made the Symphony Magazine!

The following is a brief article about our Masterworks 4 performance highlighted in the Summer 2016 edition of Symphony Magazine: The Magzine of the league of American Orchestras Community Lens Pairing orchestra performances with images-moving or still-is a popular concert format, and the Fort Collins Symphony in Colorado gave this idea a local twist for its March 5 concert. Community members were invited to submit photos featuring the natural beauty and culture of northern Colorado, with winning shots shown during the orchestra's performances of Richard Meyer's A Fiddler's Fancy and Calvin Custer's Central Coach Special. Beat Beethoven 5K 2015

The Annual Beat Beethoven 5k was held on March 29, 2015 at 9:00 am in downtown Fort Collins. The run began with Maestro Wes Kenney's baton launching the opening notes of Beethoven's 5th Symphony at the race starting line. The goal was to complete the course before the music ended and therefore "beat" Beethoven (approximately 33 minutes). Proceeds benefit the Fort Collins Symphony's youth education and community engagement programs.

Gorilla, Gorilla, Gorilla Recap

For all who turned out, Gorilla, Gorilla, Gorilla, was a wonderful event filled with fantastic live music, beautiful art, snacks, cupcakes from Butter Cream Cupcakery, wine generously donated by Donna Stroh, and Picnic Rock Pale Ale from Horse & Dragon Brewing Company. A big thank you to Hedy Reynolds and Rich Shipman for your loyal help pouring the beer and wine. There was jewelry as well as photography and mixed media art for sale.
