John Corigliano is the current dean of U.S. composers and his tuneful and exciting Gazebo Dances are sure to be a thrilling opening. Gershwin’s Rhapsody in Blue is always a crowd pleaser. Leonard Bernstein, recognized as one of the great musical geniuses of the last century, is represented by the Symphonic Dances from his masterpiece, West Side Story. Finally, William Schuman gives a dazzling looks back on the young America with his New England Triptych.
